With the holiday season right around the corner, things are about to get crazy. The last two months of the year is when many retailers do a majority of their business — and they are going to need your help to survive.
The National Retail Federation estimates that retailers are looking to hire upwards of 590,000 temporary employees this holiday season.
If you’re looking to earn some extra cash for the holidays or have some time to kill during winter break, look into working at one of the following 5 retailers. They are hiring now and many are offering some sweet incentives!
BestBuy Job Fairs
Although we are publishing a little late for BestBuy’s national job fairs launching October 10-11, this doesn’t mean they won’t be hiring beyond this date. Although job fairs usually give candidates the opportunity to get hired on the spot, it’s not the only time the electronics retailer is hiring.
In fact, BestBuy says that nearly 30% of their current full-time employees started off as seasonal workers. Head on over to your nearest BestBuy and tell them you’re interested in making some money!
Dick’s Sporting Goods Plays Ball
Dick’s Sporting Goods stores are getting into the action with their “National Signing Day” event. On October 16, the sports retail juggernaut will be looking to fill 8,000 positions across the nation.
Dick’s suggests applying online first to perhaps expedite the hiring process. If you apply, upload your resume and then come to the “Signing Day,” it may increase your chances to begin working immediately. Visit their application portal here.
Radial: The Company Behind the Curtain
If working directly with customers is something you find stressful, look into applying at Radial. They focus on fulfilling orders and handling customer service inquiries of some of the biggest retailers. They are looking to hire around 21,000 employees this holiday season nationwide.
Macy’s Hosting a Hiring Parade
The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is one of the most-watched and attended productions on Thanksgiving Day, along with NFL football. If you are in the New York area, Macy’s is wanting to hire 1,000 individuals to assist with the parade activities.
The department store is also looking to hire an additional 80,000 seasonal employees for the Christmas rush. They are conducting on-site interviews across the nation on Thursday, October 24, from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. Check it out here!
Target is Targeting You This Holiday
Target retail stores across the nation are targeting their next seasonal employees. They’re hosting two rounds of job interviews this holiday season. The first round concludes Sunday evening, October 13, and the second round is from November 2 to 3.
Target is looking to hire 130,000 seasonal employees this year and the minimum pay rate is $13 an hour. If you’ve never worked retail before, $13 an hour isn’t bad for an entry-level position. To learn more check out their website.
